History
Impact,
a Florida registered corporation, was founded in 1979 by Dilip Kanji,
its President and Chief Executive Officer. The Impact Group specializes
in the development, acquisition, and management of a diverse portfolio
of businesses including hotels, restaurants, and general investments.
Recently, the company also began leveraging its expertise and knowledge
from the local hospitality industry into other segments of the commercial
real estate markets.
The Impact Group has been very successful in the hospitality industry
over the past 25 years. During this period, the Impact Group acquired,
developed, and managed over 30 hotels throughout Florida and Georgia.
During this period, Impact also established an extensive reputation
and track record in the hotel industry and received numerous awards
and recognitions. In 1994 Days Inns of America recognized Impact
for the "Management Company of the Year" award at its
annual convention in Las Vegas. In 1998, Bass Hotels also recognized
the firm by awarding the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites
in Jacksonville the "Newcomer of the Year Award" for the
Southeastern Region. In 1999 Impact Properties was awarded the "Key
to the City" and recognized for its contributions in developing
the Hilton Garden Inn in the Ybor City 'Historic District' of Tampa
- the first hotel to be built there in over a century.
Entrepreneurial in nature, The Impact Group in recent years has
diversified into the restaurant industry and began leveraging its
expertise and knowledge from the local hospitality industry into
other segments of the commercial real estate markets.
